Delivery is Legal—but Only to Private Residences
Nevada law allows cannabis delivery—but explicitly not to hotels, resorts, or casinos. The state’s tax authority and gaming regulators prohibit dispensaries from delivering to any “gaming establishment” or hospitality venue along the Strip.
Workarounds:
- Visit a legally approved consumption lounge such as Smoke & Mirrors Cannabis Lounge.
- Book a room at a cannabis friendly hotel like The Lexi Hotel.
Minimums, Payments & Prices
Expect minimum orders (usually $75+) and cash-only options, though some now accept debit or interchange cards. Be aware that convenience fees, delivery charges, and “tourist prices” may apply—especially near the Strip. Reddit users have flagged inflated pricing and confusing discounts. To save money, shop around: apps, price-comparison sites, and non‑Tourist Zone dispensaries can offer better deals.
What You Can Buy & Possess
Since January 1, 2024, Nevada law allows possession of up to 2.5 oz flower or 0.25 oz concentrate per adult. You can purchase these amounts in a single transaction. Keep your cannabis in a sealed container, and always store it in your trunk or locked glove compartment when transporting.
Where You Can Use It
Consumption is allowed—but only in private residences or licensed consumption lounges, not in hotel rooms, casinos, sidewalks, cars, or public parks. A few lounges have opened—Smoke & Mirrors, Sky High and Dazed—where guests can legally vape or smoke on-site.
If your hotel is “cannabis-friendly” (e.g., The Lexi), ask about specific policies and smoke-filtered floors—these are still rare and often come with added fees.
Driving & Public Consumption = Your Low-Risk High
Never attempt public consumption. Fines are steep—up to $600 for violations. Smoking in cars, even as a passenger, is illegal. Nevada enforces a zero-tolerance policy for DUI. THC blood limits are enforced, and a low threshold can trigger a DUI charge. Always use ride-shares or taxis after consuming.
Tourist Tips at a Glance
Delivery is only allowed to private residences. Watch out for hidden fees and tourist markups—compare options. Carry only within legal limits and stow properly in vehicles. Consume only at licensed lounges or private spaces. Never drive. Safety (and compliance) first.
